Σπούδασε κιθάρα, Αρμονία, Αντίστιξη, Φούγκα, Τζαζ Αρμονία και αυτοσχεδιασμό, Βυζαντινή Μουσική και τελικά αποφοίτησε, από το Πειραϊκό Ωδείο και τον Σπύρο Ραυτόπουλο, με Δίπλωμα Σύνθεσης (¶ριστα Παμψηφεί και Πρώτο Βραβείο). Ύστερα από μια μακροχρόνια περίοδο διδασκαλίας σε Ωδεία και Δημόσια Εκπ/ση, του δόθηκε η δυνατότητα, από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας (2 υποτροφίες), για μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές Μουσικής στο Παν/μιο του Nottingham (UK). Του απονεμήθηκε Master of Musical Arts (2002) και Doctor of Musical Arts (2005) στη Σύνθεση με τον Dr. Nicholas Sackman.
Ως κιθαρίστας και συνθέτης έχει συνεργαστεί με πολλούς σημαντικούς μουσικούς με συμμετοχές σε συναυλίες, διεθνή φεστιβάλ και ηχογραφήσεις για το Ραδιόφωνο και την τηλεόραση. Έργα του έχουν εκτελεστεί στην Ελλάδα (Mέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, Ένωση Ελλήνων Μουσουργών, Αltera musica, σύνολο από την Ορχήστρα της Πάτρας, 3o πρόγραμμα Ε.Ρ.Τ., Αθήνα 9.84, Seven X’ κ.α.), στην Αγγλία (London Sinfonietta, Kreutzer String Quartet, Αllegri String Quartet, Rebecca Lee, Kate Hamilton κ.λ.π) και Βουλγαρία. To έργο του 'Νέμεσις' βραβεύτηκε με το Hallward Prize for Musical Composition 2003, ενώ την ίδια χρονιά ήταν φιναλιστ στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Σύνθεσης «Αuros» στις Η.Π.Α. To κουαρτέτο εγχόρδων 'Κλίμαξ' διακρίθηκε στο 2ο Πανελλήνιο διαγωνισμό μουσικής Δωματίου 2004 και επιλέχθηκε να παρουσιαστεί σε workshop από το διεθνούς φήμης κουαρτέτο 'Kreutzer' στο City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Hall. Το έργο του 'Melos I' διακρίθηκε στον 3ο Πανελλήνιο διαγωνισμό μουσικής Δωματίου 2005. Είναι τακτικό Μέλος της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Μουσουργών.
Με την τζαζ και την τζαζ κιθάρα ασχολείται συστηματικά από το 1985, τη χρονιά όπου γνώρισε τον Σπύρο Ραυτόπουλο και τον κιθαρίστα Δημοσθένη Βερετεκνίδη. Από το 1996 έως το 2000 με τον πιανίστα Γ. Κιτσόπουλο, τους μπασίστες Fergus Curie/Θ. Μπούλη και τον ντράμερ Γ. Νοταρά σχηματίζει το προσωπικό του κουαρτέτο. Η δουλειά αυτή παρουσιάζεται ζωντανά σε διάφορες μουσικές σκηνές, στο ραδιόφωνο (Αθήνα 9.84, Αιγαίο F.M, στην τηλεόραση (Seven X') και τελικά ηχογραφείται σε στούντιο 'Εσωτερικός Ανεμος'(1999).
Διδάσκει από το 1990 τζαζ κιθάρα, αυτοσχεδιασμό και ανώτερα θεωρητικά στο Πειραικό Ωδείο, στο Δημοτικό Ωδείο Κορυδαλλού. Επίσης είναι Εκπ/κός Μουσικής στη Δημόσια Εκπαίδευση.
Stefanos Andreadis
was born in Athens where he studied guitar, harmony, counterpoint, fugue, jazz improvisation, Byzantine theory and finally took a Diploma in composition with the greatest honor (1st prize) at the Conservatoire of Piraeus.
After a 12 year period as a teacher of theory and jazz guitar, he won a study leave, by the Greek Ministry of Education, to come in Nottingham and study with Dr. Nicholas Sackman.
He awarded with the Doctor of Musical Arts (2005) in Composition. Many of his compositions have already been performed in Athens, Piraeus, Thessalonica, Patra, Corfu as well as in U.K (Birmingham, Nottingham) and Bulgaria. He awarded with the 'Hallward prize 2002-2003 for Musical Composition' (UK) and was a finalist in the 'Auros' International Competition 2003 (U.S.A.). With his string quartet Nr 2 ''Klimax'' Stefano's took an honorary award in the 2nd Pan-Hellenic composition competition of chamber music (Athens-2004). The same piece was selected by the famous "Kreutzer string quartet" in a workshop at the C.B.S.O center (Birmingham-March 2005). With the chamber work Melos I, Stefano's took an honorary award in the 3rd Pan-Hellenic composition competition of chamber music (Athens-2005).
Klimax and Melos I have been published. He has received commissions from Greek composers union, Athens Megaron org, London Sinfonietta, University of Nottingham and the orchestra of the municipality of Patras. As a jazz guitarist, he has been involved in many concerts and international festivals in Athens, making recordings for Radio and television programs. He teaches jazz theory, composition and jazz guitar at Ionian University in Corfu-Greece. He is a member of Greek composers Union and an active jazz guitarist performing regularly with the group Flying Jazz (Jazz Faculty at the Ionian University). As a guitarist, he has performed with almost all notable Greek musicians (George Kontrafouris, Dimos Dimitriadis, Vasilis Rakopoulos, Alexandros Ktistakis, Yiannis Kitsopoulos, Dimitris Kalantzis, Yeorgos Georgiadis, Manos Loutas, Kea Johnson, Peter Massing, Fergus Curie e.t.a.) and some famous international artists such as Armen Donelian, Karlheinz 'Charlie' Miklin, Christi Doran.
Stefano's lives in Corfu with his wife Dimitra and five children.
....In my opinion, it is a Composer's duty to be in touch with contemporary music, however, one should not be prone to any prejudice or aesthetic cliche as well as the constant stress of being modern. Looking for originality and being always ready to look with a critical eye at his/her accomplishments, the Composer/musician will be able to decode the 'real' and the 'ideal' that is always necessary for creative music..
